Important Information Regarding This Link:
Hi Dan -- Hey, I noticed that you have listed A1 auto's carpets for the van on the site. Well, I actually got a set last fall, front and rear, the front in the denser Mass Back backing. The news is: they don't fit!! (Photos at the bottom of this page) The carpets seem to be designed for the older van. In the rear, they don't provide the double hump over the suspension boxes and must be cut to fit. I had them send me extra hump covers which I must still cut down to fit over that smaller inner hump. In front, the weirdest non-fit is at the front edge of the drivers seat where the hood shuts. The stock carpet drapes down and has small flaps which cover the latches. 1A auto's carpet sticks straight out in the air at the back of your legs. The carpet doesn't cover the center console correctly either. They say a 300 degree heat gun or torch will soften the backing up enough so I can mold it, haven't done that little task yet.

I spoke at length with these guys and they sort of followed through. They sent me some extra carpet, the extra humps, but were supposed to refund me the purchase price of the front carpet. I got tired of complaining, but that last detail still needs to happen. I'd rate them POOR to deal with, might want to post a warning on the site. Also, they were supposed to publish a correction on the website, which has obviously not been done. The carpets look real nice and my old ones looked awful or I would have just returned the 1A products. Furthermore, Toyota has stopped listing new carpets for the van. They say they would have cost some $2400! The edges of the 1A carpets are stitched so that cutting them is an unattractive option. They are a lot of work to install, since they aren't cut to fit the openings for heaters, seat brackets, etc. If an owner just must have new carpet for the van, they may be the only option, but I wouldn't recommend them. At least they ought to be cheaper. One more time, if we had a number of people who wanted carpets, we might be able to convince 1A to make up a better mold. Not likely. -- Roy
